flutters, furniture and fantasies

I have been neglecting my blogger duties and not keeping you all up to date! Apologies. Tomorrow marks our twentieth week! It is so hard to believe! As you read in David's article, I felt the baby move last weekend! I thought that deserved a little more explanation, seeing that it was our first movement. I honestly think that it had everything to do with the fact that we were finally just sitting down for an extended period of time, a time when I could actually think about and focus on that little munchkin. It was just this little flutter, but I felt it for a while. In the past week I have felt it a few more times! Wednesday night it felt quite strong. I can't wait for David to be able to feel it though, because it is just not nearly as much fun when I can't share it.

According to my books the baby is nearly 8 inches long- and it was only the size of a pea when we first found out! This month it will begin to hear, and it's already sucking its thumb, flipping around and playing with the umbilicial cord as a toy. You have to admit that's pretty darn cute.

Last weekend we also bought a change table! We found a really cute one for a great deal and couldn't pass it up. Right now it is sitting in our spare room, a room that has no room for a little baby! We have some serious work to do.We will probably only start doing the room in January or February. Although we don't really plan on having a theme, we do think lamb things are cute! We'll be sure to post pictures when there is something happening in there.

Oh yes. And I had a dream. A dream of a little baby girl. I could see exactly what she looked like and she was just this tiny, lovely smelling little angel. All I could do was kiss her little face and although it was just a dream, I couldn't believe how much I loved her.

p.s. Doctor's appointment coming this Wednesday. Keep checking for updates!

  1. I read that of all the wives tales, the only one that seems accurate, on gender determination, is that if the mom or dad have vivid dreams of the baby being one gender or another, then it probably is. So maybe you're having a girl! 20 weeks? Your ultrasound must be soon. The ultrasound is so interesting but the full bladder is so uncomfortable. Can you believe how fast it flies by? I'm 24 weeks this week, I just can't believe it. Amazing how you can love something so much, even before you see it.
