My Baby's Birthday!

I seriously can't catch up on this blog! My plan was to get into all the pictures from China and Florida, but I cannot miss my little pumpkin's birthday post, so let's start there.

My beautiful Cate is two. What an absolute gem she is. I often think about how blessed we are to have her as our child. She makes every day( or most days!) brighter and more meaningful and fulfilling.

This year, we wanted to pull together a really exciting birthday for Cate. But there was one slight problem...she doesn't really have any friends! Poor girl :-( We're working on that- but in the mean time, we had a fun party with family. She shares a birthday with our niece, Mackenzie, and so we celebrated together. (Side note! Cate now shares a birthday with another cousin- my sister's wee little baby girl who arrived almost 7 weeks early- Welcome Miss Finley Pemberton!)


We asked Cate what she wanted her cake to be, and she said "meow" and so we went with it- And we threw her a full kitty party. Now I am no cake maker, but I did my best, and Cate figured out what it was, so I judged it successful :)


She really loved the candles and would say "hot", but reach for them constantly. Note my cautious smile and carefully placed hand. We blew them out, but eventually had to relight them because it was her favorite part about the cake. :)

On her birthday morning we made star, moon and heart waffles with strawberries. (For some reason Cate has had this obsession with waffles for a few months, even though she has only ever tried them once.) I know this picture is a little blurry, but I absolutely adore it!

So there you have it. Cate Rowan is two years old and she won't let you forget it.
