How Great are Maternity Clothes?
I am four months pregnant! I am feeling great. I feel so lucky to not have had any sickness whatsoever. I hear that this is a sign of a boy. Can anyone tell me if that has been true for themselves? I think my energy level is finally picking up a little ( I can at least survive on less than 12 hours of sleep!)
This weekend we finally bought this pregnant woman some maternity clothing! This has been quite a challenge as Lethbridge does not have any maternity stores. So we were in Calgary and I found a whole bunch of shirts at Old Navy and the Gap. There wasn't a lot to choose from but I found some very cute things! And I love maternity clothes! They are so much more comfortable because your stomach isn't hanging out of your shirt, and they are especially made to emphasize the belly. It was a good day for my self-esteem because it actually made me feel pregnant rather than just chubby! So far I am not going anywhere near the maternity pants however, because I am not digging the panel, but I actually have quite a few low-rise pants that are fitting just fine so far. :) Thank goodness!
I cant' believe how quickly my stomach is growing. Today was the first day that someone noticed my belly that didn't know I was pregnant. It's so fun!
For those of you who don't know, I am still planning on doing my final practicum for my education degree in spring. This is my last semester of school and I am praying that i can finish it and graduate before the babe arrives. I should be finding out in the next week or so where my practicum will be. The school is discouraging me from going ahead with the practicum, but I have told them that I need to try to finish. And they can't stop me, so I'm going ahead with it! There are obviously concerns that we have, as the practicum ends 4 days after my due date, but we are sure that things will work out the way they are supposed to. If I am unable to finish we will figure that out when we get there, but hopefully this little one stays in there for a little more than 40 weeks!
Our love to you all...
I hear you sister I HATE the panel pants. I have gone to extreme measures to avoid them including wearing my regular pants with the fly safety pinned halfway up! If my sister wants to make me cry she can just chase me around with anything panelish. It's amazing how easy it's been to be creative with regular clothes, all the empire waist summer things. If you haven't been sick or had any problems I think you should be able to get through a practicum, it's pretty normal for first babies to be a little on the later side anyway. I'm 21 weeks this week, CANNOT believe it's halfway! Cute blog, so fun to check. The most amazing thing ever is when you start to feel it move all the time (18-20weeks usually)it's incredible it reminds you that it's a little separate entity. Everytime baby kicks I say, oh hello baby!

hi carmen,
ReplyDeletei was lucky to not have any sickness either, and well out came a girl so who knows...
if you can find a thyme maternity store they have awesome mat. pants that are just like normal pants...zippers, buttons, or ones that you can fold down the panel to wear it lower...i love their pants. too bad you don't live closer, I would totally lend you my clothes. Ask your parents for a gift cert. for that store for Christmas. I'm sure Saskatoon has one. Take care
I'm so glad you are starting to feel better and not so tired! I'm sure the next five months are gonna continue to be so special! I can't wait to see pictures of you modelling all your clothes. Could you do that please? I know that there are boys who read this and don't care, but I'm sure all the girls who do would love to see a blog-fashion show featuring cute maternity clothes!
