A Merry Little Christmas
Wow. It's Christmas Eve. We are having a quiet evening- all of our gatherings are on other days this year so we are sitting and drinking egg nog and eating nacho chips. and trying to put our baby to bed. but that is becoming hopeless. so instead we'll just let her chew on a book.
she is being so strange. She has decided that going to bed at night is the worst idea we've ever had. She's usually in bed by 7 and the last week or so she will not even think about bed until about 10pm! She is so tired- today we were out and she fell asleep in my arms while we were walking-something she never, ever does.
This evening we went to a Christmas Eve service at church and Cate was yelling during the singing and her legs were kicking non-stop. It's funny to think that last year on this date she was kicking away in my tummy. How things change in just one year.
Tomorrow we'll watch Cate open her presents. Obviously it will be more exciting for us than for her, being that she is a baby, but we look forward to the picture opportunities anyways. It's interesting being a parent now and considering how we want to parent her as she grows older. I mean, for Christmas, we REALLY don't want her to be spoiled. We want her to grow up being thankful for every little thing that she is given, and not to expect more. So we are already watching that, even though it would be so easy to spoil her rotten.
I will try to post some pictures here tomorrow.
A Merry Christmas to each of you.
