Amuse Me Please
We're falling into a pretty good routine here in Daegu. Sometimes it's really hard to believe that we live here. In a strange way, when we're inside our apartment, we don't really feel like we are anywhere, but then we step outside, and we're in Korea. It's like a fantasy book where you are magically in another world, just like that.
Here are a few pictures that we took this weekend. There is a foreign family that we met on an ESL forum before we came, that are also living here in Daegu. We met up with them on Sunday, went to church and went to their house for supper. They have two little kids. This is their oldest, who really loved Cate.I love how Cate looks like she is a little weirded out by the arm on her shoulder. He did that on his own, it was pretty funny. On Friday night we went out to a Kalbi (sp?) restaurant. As you can see, you sit on the floor, and they cook your meat on a little BBQ thing. They bring you all these side dishes, most of which we know nothing about (brown squares floating in liquid?), but we tried most and it's delicious. This picture was taken right before Cate grabbed a bowl off the table and poured it into my lap. Perhaps having a table at baby level is not such a good thing.
You are seeing right. We don't have a dryer. Most Korean homes don't. So we hang dry everything. This rack takes up the entire kitchen, and it took two full days to dry everything.
On another note, there are so many things in Korea that amuse us foreigners. I will entitle this section "Amuse me please"
- students named Rabbit and Vanilla
-a popular shoe brand called "Booby Shoes"
-Old men exercising in the park in their suits
I'll keep 'em coming. It doesn't end.
Hope you are all well!
thats very funny, I'm so glad to see you guys are settling in Carmen.
