Holiday in Pictures
We're back from our lovely little holiday to Seoul. We had a great time. The weather was cool, the food good, and the culture amazing. We had a really leisurely time of walking through traditional markets, sleeping in and touring some sites. Here is our holiday in pictures. I will post the candid and the family shots here, but be sure to check out David's blog for other great photos and descriptions of each day.
Cate and I on the high speed train, the KTX. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to Seoul.

We brought along our travel playpen (which Cate sleeps in all the time) and put it in the front entrance part of our hotel room. We thought she was going to bed, when she suddenly popped up and was waving at us through the screen.
We found a great little restaurant right near our hotel.
Cate decided to unpack all of her toys and books from the suitcase.
The second day we were in Seoul we went to Gyeongbukgung Palace. It was beautiful! We even went back a second time. Here is the oh- so- cute Cate.

Aww. Cate was so tired that she fell asleep sitting up in David's arms. He is holding her head up.One night we decided to try out a fancier restaurant, even though we had the little one. She insisted upon drinking our water out of wine glasses, and eating our meal instead of the convenient one that I packed for her, but it was still a good time. Here she is just owning the place.
The same night we took Cate out on the town past her bedtime. That didn't go so great, but we did manage to take a cute picture.
In front of the palace. It was nearly impossible to get the tips of the
building and all of us in the same picture. It was huge!

Cool view on a rainy day.
In front of the palace. It's back to school for me on Monday. It'll be hard to be away from Cate again. It's been so nice to spend so many days with her. But we only have 6 months to go! This week will officially mark the half way point of our time here, which is completely insane. We also just received confirmation from David's parents that they are coming to visit us at the end of September. We are thrilled!
Hope you enjoyed this gigantic photo album of our week away.
wow, halfway done! amazing how fast time goes (at the same time how slow!). love the pictures, there are some different ones from what you guys have on facebook so that is nice! looks like you had a great time. that one pic of the whole family looks totally professional, i love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Carmen! I'm in Vancouver on holidays and behind on blog stuff. I just read yours a few down about the MRI/walking issue experience and I totally cried. I can just feel how sick you must have felt through that all. I will pray that everything turns out ok. I'm sure Cate is absolutely perfect and is just taking her sweet time to walk. She has also had a very big year and maybe this is her way of staying a safe little baby. either way I will pray for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great post! I enjoyed every photo especially the family photo which I consider one of the best I've seen of you three. Good to hear that you had a good/relaxing albeit shirt vacation to Seoul.
ReplyDeleteJust noticed that I didn't identify myself in the last post... Dad/Papa Ginther
ReplyDeleteThat's what I get for hurrying... the first post should have read short vacation NOT shirt vacation.
